MINUTES OF THE JULY 31, 2018 MEETING
At 6:35 pm, President George called the meeting to order.
President George reported on the following issues:
*The joint meeting with OAI last month was a huge turnout. Over 75 neighbors were in attendance.
*July 25th, CRA Zoning Overlay meeting was held at the University Park Library . Many business owners came out to hear the plan and voice their concerns.
*“OPERATION BEAUTIFICATION” Mayor Curry has signed the contract. We will get started immediately by pressure washing the wall on University Blvd; there will be a “workday” in the month of September to trim hedges on the westside of University Blvd. This is a community project, and we would love to have everyone’s support.
*Members agreed to have a Pineapple as an ornament to go on the brick columns.
*President George reported that the Moose Lodge will not be a voting location in the future. All elections will be at the University Park Library.
*Early voting will begin August 13th.
*Gubernatorial debate at J U Rep. 8/8, and Dems. Debate 8/9
* Joyce Morgan next District 1 meeting will be 8-27.
*Next UPCA meeting will be 8-21. Possible speakers: CRA AND UPDATE ON CRIME IN OUR AREA.
* Community family event at Blue Cypress Community Center August 2nd. (SUMMER VIBEZ) 6:30 pm-8:30 pm.
